This policy covers two places. This website (theoriginalweddinggiftlist.com) is a public information site: it explains the service and, on some pages, lets you join an early-access list. The GiftRound app (app.giftround.com) is where Wedding Gift Lists are created, logged into, managed and contributed to. When you follow "Create your list" or "Log in" you move to the GiftRound app, where GiftRound's own privacy and cookie information also applies.

On this website we collect only what you choose to submit in an early-access form (your email address, optional wedding month or year and marketing choice), the page and campaign details that brought you here, and the technical information described in section 12. Most of the information below is collected in the GiftRound app.

Information you give us when creating a Wedding Gift List: the couple's names, email address, wedding date or month, gift list details and any message or photo you choose to add.

Couple / organiser information: account details, verification information where required, and the gift card delivery details needed to provide your wedding gift.

Guest / contributor information: name (or the name you choose to show), email address where provided, contribution amount and any personal message you leave for the couple.

Payment and transaction information: contribution amounts, dates, reference numbers and the outcome of payments. Full card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us.

Technical and device information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system and general location.

Website usage information: pages viewed, links clicked, referring page and how you interact with our pages.

Customer support communications: emails and messages you send us and our replies.

Social media interactions: messages, comments or enquiries you send through our social media profiles.

Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to hear from us and any opt-out you make later.

• To process payments and provide the resulting gift card to the couple (performance of a contract).
• To provide customer support and respond to your enquiries (legitimate interests).

• To send marketing about The Original Wedding Gift List where you have asked us to (consent).

This website does not currently run its own analytics or advertising tools. It records which page and campaign link you arrived from in your browser's local storage so that this information can be passed on when you create a list; it does not include your email address or other directly identifying details. Our website hosting platform may record basic, aggregated visit information as part of running the site. The GiftRound app may use its own analytics, described in GiftRound's privacy information. If we add website analytics in future, we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy first.

We and our payment partner carry out checks on contributions and gift lists to detect fraudulent, unlawful or abusive activity. This may involve reviewing transaction and device information and, where necessary, requesting further verification.

Payments made in the GiftRound app are processed by Ryft Pay Ltd, trading as Ryft, an authorised payment services provider. We also use trusted service providers for hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support and fraud prevention. These providers process personal data on our instructions under written agreements and may not use it for their own purposes.

Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.

We keep Wedding Gift List and contribution records for as long as needed to run the service and for six years afterwards to meet accounting, tax and legal requirements. Marketing contact details are kept until you opt out. Support messages are kept for up to three years.

We use encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring and secure hosting to protect personal data. No system can be completely secure, so please keep your account details and gift list link private.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Request deletion where we no longer need the data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a portable copy of data you provided.
• Withdraw consent at any time, including for marketing and non-essential cookies.

We only send marketing emails where you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service messages about your Wedding Gift List.

This website uses browser storage to remember where you arrived from, loads fonts from Google Fonts (which receives your IP address), and is served by a hosting platform that may set or read technical data to operate and measure the site. The GiftRound app uses its own cookies. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

The service is intended for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
